I recently received an email from a student who was studying for the ACT coming up on April 13. Here's what she had to say:
"Hi Kelly,
I am just not good at taking tests. I never get good scores on tests in school even when I study! I hate taking them. I get nervous every time. How do I get to be better at taking tests? I NEED HELPPPP!!!!!!!!"
Poor little puppy! Right away, I noticed something that will inhibit her test-taking behavior. Can you spot it in the email?
It's cognitive distortion! Read more about this huge testing problem, how to correct it, and more ways to go from "meh" to "wow!" on your next test, here:
