The ACT
The ACT is a multiple-choice standardized test commonly required for college applications. Unlike the SAT, the ACT is subject-based, meaning that students will be tested on the Math, English, Reading, and Science skills that they have learned before their senior year of high school. Those 4 subjects correspond to the 4 sections that comprise the ACT. Students also have the option of taking a Writing Test that requires writing an essay.
