A. The average SAT test score is in the mid-1500s, out of 2400. Generally, you should aim higher through targeted test prep to make yourself a competitive candidate for college admissions.

It's a good idea to find out the average SAT test score for students at your top choice colleges, then design your test prep to try to reach or beat that score.

If you're aiming for scholarships or admission to a selective school, a SAT score of 2000 is a good number - or higher.
