Word-Nerd has always been about making vocabulary prep fun and interesting, and the blog takes that attitude to wider subject matter. Vocabulary is great, but there's a lot more to SAT prep and college admissions.
What's Your Blog About?
As the name implies, we're all about SAT test prep and college admissions. We're also going to throw in helpful information about what happens after you get that acceptance letter. We come from a test prep background, but we also know a lot about essays, interviews and navigating the admissions process.
My Blog is Unique Because...
We want to provide useful information in a fun, casual way. While there's a lot of good information out there, it's often presented in a way that's intimidating or impenetrable. The admissions process doesn't have to be treated like life or death! We also don't limit our posts to talking about ourselves. We'll send you to other great resources out there, too.
Advice
- Be wary of the medium difficulty math questions. These are the ones where you're most likely to make careless mistakes. If you come to an answer quickly, be sure to check your work. If it were a truly easy question, it would have appeared at the beginning of the section!
- Don't feel you have to write your essay about lofty, "academic" topics. Unless you know War and Peace inside and out, leave it alone! Write about yourself or your friends or your favorite TV show. Just be sure it's relevant to the topic at hand.
