This is it! If you're registered to take the ACT test on September 8, and the last thought on your mind this summer has been prepping for the darn thing (But September seems so far away!), then listen up: You have five weeks and a smattering of days left before test day.
I know I don't need to remind you that it's a great idea to prepare for this exam because 1). You can get scholarships from your score 2). You have a better chance at getting into your first choice because of your score and 3). You can get the big "I'm so impressed!" look from your parents because of your score. You remember all that already.
Despite all that, you may have been too distracted this summer to fully prepare yourself, and that's okay. I get it. Here's the thing, though - you need to start immediately. Five weeks may seem like an eternity to you, but in between back-to-school prep, last-minute summer fun, and endless activities, you're going to push it back until the day before the test and you'll hate yourself for it. Truly.
Let's not let that happen. To help you in your "Get ready for the ACT" endeavor, I'll spend the next five Tuesdays putting up some helpful tips and testing strategies for each of the five ACT test sections: ACT English, Mathematics, Reading, Science Reasoning and Writing. I'll start with ACT English, because that'll be the first section you'll encounter on the test.
You'll thank me later.
